OBIEE 12.2.1/12.2.1.1 support in MyST

Oracle Business Intelligence (OBIEE) 12.2.1 and 12.2.1.1 are now supported by MyST Studio and MyST CLI version 5.0.

The following steps show the product-specific configuration required to create a platform blueprint and model using MySt Studio to support OBIEE 12.2.1.1. If you're using OBIEE 12.2.1, don't worry - the process is exactly the same!

Creating a Blueprint

1. Selecting catalog and components

* Select the Business Intelligence Catalog * Select the Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition component * Click Next

2. Accept Compute Groups defaults

  • Accept all defaults on the Compute Groups and Targeting screen by clicking Next

3. Select No Load Balancer

  • Select 'No' for Do You Want to add a Load Balancer? and click Next
  • Click Finish on the Summary screen to finish creating an OBIEE 12.2.1.1 blueprint.

Creating a Model

1. Accept MyST Studio defaults

  • Accept provided defaults on the Infrastructure step of the wizard
  • Accept provided defaults on the Compute Node Count step of the wizard
  • Select an appropriate target machine to use for the OBIEE domain to be created on the Compute to Infrastructure Mapping screen

2. Database configuration

Provide configuration to allow RCU to connect to an Oracle database as part of provisioning the OBIEE domain. The credentials used must provide MyST with sys-level privileges in order to execute RCU SQL scripts correctly.

  • Click Finish on the Summary step of the wizard to create the OBIEE 12.2.1.1 model.

3. Provide product parameters

To configure product parameters:

  • select Modelling / Platform Models from the left-hand menu
  • Select the OBIEE model from the list displayed
  • Click Actions / Configuration from the drop-down menu at the top right of screen
  • Click Edit Configuration
  • Expand 'Products' in the configuration tree view and select Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition
  • Click the Edit button at the top of the configuration table on the main pane of the screen

OBIEE requires the following product parameters to be set:
